Re: Problem with my new ZXpand+

+1 for cleaning edge connector. And wiggling the ZXpand in-place with the power off. There is a slim possibility that the CPLD has become corrupted. Do a CPLD re-flash too using the second part of the instructions posted earlier and THIS file. The process takes 3-4 minutes, and it might look like no...

Re: Problem with my new ZXpand+

Hi sorry, I just spotted this. Pin 1 is not used in normal operation - it is normally RESET but it is disabled once the PIC is programmed. I am slightly ashamed that a bent pin wasn't noticed but that is probably because it has no use. How are things now? Is the problem still happening? It's most od...

Re: ZX Max 48 issue 2 PCB

Beautiful! I especially like the resistors hidden inside the footprint of the DIL socket. As I have another CPLD spare (unsure of its working status though) I think I should go for an issue 2 also. Is anyone else in the UK thinking of getting one? Would you be happy to combine shipping for a couple ...

Re: Improving Timex/Sinclair Tape Loading

Well I assume the thing's working, but I admit it's only by trial - I haven't scoped anything out. I notice that I can make the LED light if I poke my fingers near certain components - I guess it's quite finely tuned? * update - and a flick turns it off and on again. I think there's a screw loose. T...

Re: Preserving ZX81 titles

There is some work happening at the moment which may well result in a device which can assist with loading tricky tapes. Fingers crossed.
