Re: Spectrum lost colour on composite but gained stripes on YUV
Cool In case you haven’t found this site - there’s some ULA compatibility details here I believe its safer practice to put a suspected broken chip into a known working machine, than to put a known working chip into a busted machine with unknown faults. However in this case, I’d personally just put y...

Re: Spectrum lost colour on composite but gained stripes on YUV
Can you compare hue (U, edge connector 18B) and saturation (V, edge connector 17b) signals with that coming from the machine that works? I think you implied you have a working machine - what sort is it? What issue of motherboard are the two machines? After checking that the ula chip version is compa...

Re: 48K issue 4B upper memory issue
I’ve just figured out the problem It was the frigging diagnostic card. I’m guessing some bad joint on edge connector of the card. Swapping it with a diagnostics cart purchased from retroleum and the machine is passing reliably now. And I have now fixed the original diag cart I ended up removing the...

Re: Zx Spectrum 128k +2 (SCART to VGA or HDMi)
I was thinking something like the divmmc but a lot cheaper than the $100 I seem to have to pay to get one. (So I’m not taking about display -but instant loading files)

Pico based RGB to VGA for QL at nearly no cost.
Also capable of spectrum video.
off topic: is there anything over on the German forums where it’s an effectively a WESPI but for the spectrum 48k?

Re: Zx Spectrum 128k +2 (SCART to VGA or HDMi)
If you have a computer with RGB output, then a monitor with SCART input is totally fine. I started out trying to get my Beeb’s RGB output on something. With no SCART TVs here in the USA, I ended up looking at Sharp LCD TVs with SCART on Amazon UK. But, at £150 +shipping to USA, it was much more econ...

Re: Zx Spectrum 128k +2 (SCART to VGA or HDMi)
Ok - Too Much Information (TMI), but here’s my experiences with these things ZX-HD works very well and works better than rgbToHdmi on the standard spectrum 16k/48k (it can show bright colours). It auto detects and works with almost all spectrums . It has slightly more of a finished product feel - as...

Found it.
It was this that I saw referenced.
If you scroll down on the page, they’re some more details and short video.

Re: 48K issue 4B upper memory issue
Yeah I have with a fiberglass scratch pen and some deoxit
It’s either some solder joints on the diag board itself, or more likely a dodgy joint from the edge connector onto the diag board.

Replacement Spectrum+ case
I was watching some YouTube video (which I can’t find again) where it talked about a kick starter to make a modern Spectrum+ case That is, just like there’s the modern Spectrum 16/48k rubber mat cases that you can get in different colours and faceplates, there was potentially a Spectrum+ one in the ...
