OK here's the ZX81 in PC keyboard.
It't basically an issue 1 motherboard with a DIY 32K addon, built into an old DELL keyboard.
And that's an internal view taken before I had finished assembling.

Re: Keyboard kits
When I get home I'll post a picture of the ZX81 board I built into an old DELL PC keyboard, which had individual switches, needed hacksaw, dremmel and kynar wire but works great.

Re: New Product - ZXVid
We would not want to offer an option 'P' as that leads to all sorts of issues - if the unit doesn't work, then who's fault is it? But surely you already have those issues with anything but the send the ZX81 to you to fit ? i.e. if I screw up the fitting who's fault is it if it doesn't work. I guess...

Re: low mb SD cards
Yeah I just bought some 32MB MMC cards from ebay, work fine with the DragonMMC and I see no reason why they wouldn't work with ZXpand, as the MMC code is fairly simiar

Re: Return of the pseudo-sound routine..!
How about an implementation of the Dragon PLAY command ? It took a string of values describing the notes to be played and would play them, usefull for adding tuned to basic programs. I seem to remember that Spectrum 128 basic also implemented this, and on an AY, so perhaps some code could be um....b...

Re: Soundboard behind ZXPAND problem SOLVED
Indeed I've lost count of the number of prototypes that I've had not work because I forgot to solder something (usually on the top of the board).Andy Rea wrote:Whooey

Re: Hi-speed loadings for zx81
what computer system of days gone by had the quickest default loading speeds anyway ? I think most of them where arounf 1200bps, ciatainly the Dragon / CoCo and the Beeb / Master / Electron. The slowcoaches of course where the ZX80/81, the Acorn Atom and the Commodore Vic 20 / 64 all of which IIRC ...

Re: ZX80 dark video...
Ok I've been an idiot :( Checked the brightness with one of my ZX81s and that was also wayy too dark, corrected that and now the ZX80 is the correct brightness, though I'm still getting some vertical black lines on the left side of the screen which line up with the lefthand pixel in the character, o...

ZX80 dark video...
Hi all,
I've just recently build up one of the ZX80 reproduction boards, which does work, however the video output is really dark, even after building Grant Searle's white level restore circuit (attached), anyone have any clue how I can rectify this ?
Cheers.
