Re: ZX81 related webpage
Here's another interesting site I just found. It's a games database for various computers including the Sinclair range. It's nicely organized, I don't think there are any downloads though, at least I haven't found them, maybe you have to register, I didn't. http://everygamegoing.com/landing/menus/ma...

Re: Calculator language
just trying it with the new Zxpand+ and whilst some of the introductory surround/border is a bit corrupted the text is fine and so is the first demo That's because they're standard ZX81 patterns and are supposed to use the normal bit pattern table at 1E00, but are now using the patterns from the "o...

Re: Calculator language
Here's a program which uses the FP calculator extensively. Originally written for the Spectrum, I converted it way back in '87 to run on a hi-res capable T/S 1000. It shows that the calculator in the Spectrum is pretty much the same as the ZX81's. The listing is nicely annotated in the article. Rega...

Re: HOT-Z Keys
Hi Steve; I had all my old stuff in a storage shed which got broke in and stolen. I'm sure they didn't know what it was, theyjust took everything that they could. I've had a request for the SHREB v 3 manual before which would be nice to get scanned if you have it. The version 2 manual has been poste...

LOADing a binary file will sometimes disable the ZXPand ROM.

Re: HOT-Z Keys
Hi Steve; What a nice surprise! I never expected to see these, I'd forgotten that Hi-z was a Fred mod. of the program. I don't have anything from the old days, but I have managed to acquire 3 T/S 1000s and a couple ZX81s from Ebay, over the last few years. My best buy was a Memotech 64K Memopac for ...

Re: Free online Z80 or ZX81 books
Toni is a lady... EDIT 21/05/2017 Almost forgot this the "Farewell" program at the end written by the author spells out, albeit very badly, the authors first name as "TONY" (masculine spelling) and has a facsimile of the authors own signature, again "Tony" at the bottom of the page. In the later rev...

Link here http://www.users.waitrose.com/~thunor/mmcoyzx81/index.html Plus a thread here which includes some musings about Tony Baker himself. http://www.sinclairzxworld.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=694&p=6228#p6228 That's "herself", it's Toni Baker. I 've seen this error several times before it must've...

Re: Double buffer grey scale?
See Fred Nachbaur's "Bi-Plot Demo" at Http//www.pictureviewerpro.com/hosting/zx81/fredn.htm "Bi-Plot demo" (16, WRX) This is a demonstration of a cool WRX16 display option. The 8K hi-res display file is divided into two 4K chunks, which are displayed on alternate frames to give a neat overlay effect...

Re: Double buffer grey scale?
I remember back in the day someone was selling a game that flashed to create colors by stimulating the retina at different frequencies. May be like when you stare at a an image for some time and then move to another the impression of color is given off. https://petapixel.com/2015/11/16/trick-your-b...
