Re: ZX8-CCB and keyboard membrane replacements

Just thinking out loud about the Spectrum plus keyboard (48P-KDLX KEYBOARD) - my Toastrack has a broken space bar. It looks like someone pulled the space bar off without realising it was attached to the case via two metal bars. 9655442F-6F23-404D-ADF4-ACEF3ADA8D13.jpeg It works fine if you press it...

Re: [solved] 16/48 OK Composite, but ZX-HD cannot show

The + outside is as driving on the left - typical British ;) As 1024MAK told the ZX power is unstable and reduces under load. A modern 9V regulator is not necessary. I use a modern 9VDC regulated supply and it causes my Timex Sinclair 1000 to run MUCH cooler as the input voltage to the internal 5V ...

Re: Artic ZX Galaxians - now with ZONX support (and Chroma81 & UDG)

Not that I have ever heard of HRG8 before. That's them although I bought the machine with this installed, along with the vla81 chip upgrade. Anyone know if this is why the Spave Invaders won't run on my machine? Been an interestin thread this, and thanks to everyone for their input. So are you usin...

Re: Which video mod for composite?

The 210E version of the ZX81 ULA is pretty compliant with the standards. It’s better, but I would not describe it as pretty compliant. Well, as far as I know it seems to be compliant with a standard black and white signal. If there are major deviations that you are aware of please elaborate. My TS1...

Re: Artic ZX Galaxians - now with ZONX support (and Chroma81 & UDG)

May be the same I only knows another graphically similar. But this is 100% accurate with the original, has 1 pixel scrolling and supports Chroma as well. A but slower. There's the spectrum version too.. https://splintergu.itch.io/ 20210911_182002 (2).mp4 I gave up on trying these downloads a while ...

Re: Which video mod for composite?

Part of the problem is that the video signal from the ZX81/TS1000 is not to the broadcast standard. The computers were designed for use with black and white (monochrome) CRT televisions of the day. These being totally analogue designs, they were much more forgiving if the timing or signal levels we...
