Re: Zeddy in science mode!

There's this old topic: https://www.sinclairzxworld.com/viewtopic.php?p=13604 A bit of a blast from the past as the late A.G. Booth, given as an author in the first reference, was the chap who set up ACS Software. He was a lecturer in Biochemistry at the time and I was a postgrad. I wrote a few util...

Re: Happy Birthday Sir Clive

I have to ask. Does the "Dinner For One" (Der 90. Geburtstag) reference have any special significance in this context?

Re: Hello from the Netherlands..

I've always thought that QL was partly a misnomer. It was initially a synonym for quantum jump which could be regarded as the smallest jump possible (not a major change) and therefore not quite the best advertising angle - especially at the price. The alternative meaning, but one infrequently used o...

Re: FIF. Another FORTH.

FIF 1.03 is now available. This is a bugfix release. Also note that a few of the screen files have had minor edits so you'll need to re-copy them all to your preferred location. Grateful plaudits to Moggy for the time he's taken to produce & report the sequences of operations that were causing him d...

Re: FIF. Another FORTH.

It has its own m/c routines to do a 32x16 divide and a 16x16 multiply. The Forth maths words ultimately feed off those two routines.

Re: FIF. Another FORTH.

Yes, I'm not to fond of such heat either. It may take me a few days to rip out existing code and replace it with new stuff. In the meantime I'd recommend HxD if you haven't got it already. https://mh-nexus.de/en/hxd/ It'd enable you to edit the screen files and, if you see an anomaly, fix it. I'd al...

Re: FIF. Another FORTH.

Hi Alan the faulty screen thing has started again so will PM the offending screen to see what you make of it. Hmmm. That's no zero, that's an $F8 character. I can't see that kind of character at that kind of position arising from the non-ZXpand parts of FIF doing the corrupting. It looks far more l...

Re: FIF. Another FORTH.

Thanks Fred. I've not been able to make it fail under EO this evening after trying very hard to do so. I'll do some testing on real hardware tomorrow and see whether I get any problems. As I said earlier in the thread there can be some oddities with ZXpand. I've got over a dozen 2GB SD cards. Most o...

Re: FIF. Another FORTH.

Hi Moggy, I didn't mean use hex when you're typing definitions; that won't affect the problem you're having. What I meant is that the screens are stored as files and the numeric part of the filenames is in hex. So, if you were having problems with screen 10 (decimal) then the filename for that scree...
