Hi all I downloaded the two games mentioned above, and they played perfectly on my version of 81 version (1.0a) as did the hymm.p file mentioned earlier. Perhaps it depends on what version you are running? Also the spectrum/zx81 interface seems a good idea provided the software is not too primitive ...

the early ulas (2C158E and 2C184E) seemed especialy dull, some with a "wavy screen" effect. Ula 2C210E which I think appeared on the issue three boards seemed much brighter.

I thought Andre had some off-the-wall games ideas, this ones a little cracker (sprites on a zeddy yeees!!!)

Hi all even simpler mod is to use a phono lead, solder the braid to modulator and inner core to to left hand wire exiting modulator (when viewed from front) does away with transistor etc used this method for a while now on zx80 as well (only way i could get my usa zx80 to work on uk tv) I must add I...

I agree with Sir Morris, Andre has the most unique take on what makes a good ( and addictive ) game I have ever come across. Even His rem statements have great graphics!! Good gameplay and all in Basic!!

Hi Palmheads I think the reason The Memotext never caught on was the sheer complexity of the damm thing!!! No hi res display and to achieve anything useful you had to master a bunch control codes and guess what the output would look like! It does have a keyboard buffer built in so no lag. I have str...
