2013 ZX81 Meeting?

Post by oscar »

I'm trying to find out details of the 2013 ZX81 meeting (the 2012 meeting was in Fulda this year). There's a chance that I'll be in Europe in April 2013, but all that I can find so far is just the date (19-21 April 2013). Is there a web page with more details in English?

I am afraid there is no web page.
If there is a chance that anyone might attend this (afaik there will be some) I am glad to keep you up to date here.
The location is the same as this years meeting.
Friday 19th of April 2013 there will be the first members expected around 3pm.
The aim for most members and guests is to reach it in the evening. Some don't make it until early in the morning.
There are rooms with four to six beds inside and it has some similarities with a youth hostel. Showers and toilets seperately on every floor.
The work like cooking and dish washing, cleaning and moving furniture is beeing made by those attending the meeting. So help is always welcome but not mandatory. The shopping and cooking is centralized, so no need to bring your own beverage or food.
In case of a special diet you should care for own supplies.
Of course anybody may bring his favorite beer or wine or Whisky, cookies cake or chips and whatever is wanted.
But generally there is enough to eat and drink including cakes and sweets. At the end everybody is charged a little sum to cover the expenses.
If anybody is willing to bring some specialities (for England this might be minced tarts or pork pies, cheese or whatever you can think of, for France this might be crepes or cheese or red wine...) this would be welcome.
Please bring your own towel and Sinclair. I also prefer my own pillow, but thats up to you. There will be an adaptor for English power cord (or at least spare plugs to replace an English plug) so please also bring your own extension cords as needed.
If there might come someone who needs 110v please contact me so I can bring a converter.
Hth
Paul.
In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. But, in practice, there is.

Heh, actually it's not a real computer ;) it's a model from times they were developing a box/case (and name) of ZX Spectrum. :) I have probably photos of all the models before the final was chosen. :)

As for the party, I can only say it's a fantastic meeting with _loads_ of gear, good ppl and great atmosphere.

Hi, it's me, Peter from german ZX-TEAM. I'm the organizer of all ZX-TEAM-meetings.
I'm sorry, but there is no english information about the next meeting (17th) at ZX-TEAM-homepage www.zx81.de at the moment.
I will have to do that early in 2013.
Until than please read the thread about 16th meeting. Except of the date, 19th until 21st of april 2013, there are no changes.

See you in Mahlerts

Thanks for the confirmation. With some luck we'll be there, but as usual it depends on finances.
