ZX-Team Meeting 4-6. April 2014

Post by Paul »

The German ZX-Team has its anual meeting in begin of April.
There are about 50 Sinclair enthusiasts meeting there, and as it's QLs 30th Birthday there will be a part of it dedicated to the QL.
The German QL Group of the ZX-Team is about 10 Users at the moment. About seven try to attend at least on Saturday. This meeting is open to public. Membership to the ZX-Team is free of charge.
Guests from Switzerland, the UK, the Netherlands and other countries are expected.
This meeting is less gaming together, but more hardware related as repairs are made and development is discussed and presented. It is dedicated to all Sinclair products.
Mk14,ZX80, ZX81, spectrums of all kinds, QL, Z88, C5 and all sorts of clones are expected as every year.
If anybody is interested you are welcome to join us.
Kind regards
Paul

I'm collecting/saving money for it.

As for the hardware, except the ZX81, I could take the Speccy2010 this time.

A modern model, very... "portable". ;)

Hi rich,
Could Charlie or Andy bring some membranes to Germany for sale on our meeting?
From the past you know there is always some demand, but not very much.
If would help us keeping our sinclairs in a working condition.

Kind regards
Paul

Kim Wurtz (on Facebook) has asked if anyone will have a ZX81 for sale - he is also looking for a ZX81 AZMIC ROM - not something I have heard of.

I have asked him if he intends being at the ZX-Team Meeting :D

Found the ASZMIC ROM - it is only 4K:

Apparently to get it to work, you have to create an 8K ROM image by creating a shadow copy of the ROM at 4K....

For those, who had never been at a ZX-Team meeting and thus don't know, what happens there:
here is the "only true report" about the last meeting in 2013, written by Willi (in German)

And the report of the 2012 meeting:

Have fun (and see you at Mahlerts)

there is already a multirom PCB where several ROMS can be changed on the fly in the ZX81 ...

I already have tested the ASZMIC ROM together with others and they work.

Here the manual:

Here a video:

At 0:50 the ASZMIC is shown .....
