ZXzine

Post by swensont »

As I've been doing work / tinkering with the ZX81, I've always like to write up what I have been doing. With no outlet for this writing, I've decided to create ZXzine, an e-zine for the ZX81. I also work in the QL, and I've created an e-zine for the QL called SMSQzine. Both are free (creative commons license) and created with DTP tools.

ZXzine can be found at my Goggle Sites page:
https://sites.google.com/site/svenqhj/home
Or directly at:
https://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&pid= ... MmM0ZTM2Nw
There is a zip file that comes with ZXzine with all of the source code mentioned in the zine and .P files for the programs.
https://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&pid= ... TdlYmNmYzE

I hope others will like ZXzine. I'm always interested in feedback and any article submissions.

Thanks,

Tim Swenson

Your ZXzine looks interesting. I also looked at your site and the Where is Union City caught my eye since I live near Union City. But looking over the whole site I found out that the Union City you mention is in a different location. One giveaway was you mention Dry Creek while French Creek goes through the one near me in Pennsylvania.

Nice work! I've just read through the first issue. I wonder if you'll run type-in programs (with errors of course!) :)

The second issue of ZXzine has been posted to my Google Sites page:

https://sites.google.com/site/svenqhj/home

Look for ZXine2.pdf and ZXzine2.zip. The zip file contains all of the related files from the issue.

Wolfram's automata on the Zeddy! That could be worth a little bit more speed, so I implemented your algorithm in machine code, within z88dk. The rule for the automaton and column for one initial pixel are read from addresses 16434 and 16435, so the rules may be explored easily with RAND ;)
