ZEDDYNET IRC Chat manned

Post by Paul »

Today 17.01.2016 at 20:00 (German Time Zone) the ZEDDYNET IRC chat will be manned.
As the Chat log files show that it was frequently used, but often only one participant we decided to announce chatting in order to help getting more users online at the same time.
http://irc.zxq.de/ for any IRC-Client or
http://webirc.zxq.de/ for any browser if you don't own a zeddynet yet.
kind regards Paul

Yes, you were too late. But you were logged in successfully (see the end of the log file):

Andy,

I heard that you used the ANSI Version of the IRChat client during the chat session. How did you managed using this together with the ZXPand and the ZeddyNet? At each time I'm trying to use the ANSI IRC I'm able to load this but when trying to run it the screen flashes and the ZXPAND 2.2 message appears. When I use the none ANSI version it works for me. So which ANSI Version did you use and how did you load and run this. Also is there any Config done at your ZXPand? I was told to use CONFIG "M=L" to be able to use the adress range from 8-40K.

Is there any help you are able to give?

Hi Tokabin,

my setup is as follows zx81 then plugged in first zeddynet and behind that zxpand V2.2 beta firmware and v6 rom ( i think) and ay card plugged into zxpand also.

siggi softawre use is IPCONFIG.P v4.2 and IRC-ANSI32.P v3.0 ( renamed to 8.3 format i used IRCANSI3.P )

power up system, and perform CONFIG "M=L"
then load and run IPCONFIG.P when you have an ip
load IRCANSI3 and run it

thats it, it just worked for me.
as yet i have been unable to get smail, gmail, or zeddyfox to run

Hmm, smail.p and pmail.p are ordinary 16K programs (but you need an email-provider like Mathias, who provides an unenctrypted SMTP mail server, because the Zeddy does not encrypt emails ;) ) so there should not be any problems to run them ....
?!?

Andy,

many thanks for your answer.

I do use the same set-up except that I'm using Firmware 2.2 (no beta) and I've overseen the 8.3 file naming restriction.
So I will double check by end of this week... and will keep you posted.

I've to admit,

that it was my own foolishness that IRC-ANSI.p doesn't worked

After renaming the file following the 8.3 filename convention... it working now .

Thanks Andy
