Web site update

Post by hldswrth »

Well I've finally got round to updating my website with around 50 new tapes and some other interesting bits, including a description and download for my Super Sudoku 81 program (all machine code!), updated my JtyOne emulator to support ZX80 emulation (for CSSCGC 2008), and added a TrueType version of the font used in the ZX Spectrum games Lords of Midnight and Doomdark's revenge.

Thanks to contributors Simon Fawkes of Fawkes Computing (inlays and unpublished game), and Rhodri Marsden (Software Farm title Bouncing Bert).

Check it out at http://www.zx81stuff.org.uk/

I've got more tapes in the pipeline, I think around 15 new ones to be dumped/scanned/uploaded.

Cheers, Simon

this site is white now, with no text, in most of its content.

Yeah, thanks, I have no idea why that should be :-(

Pretty much all of the generated HTML files are zero-length, despite being fine on my local copy.

I'll see if I can figure out why that happened.

Thanks for the update!

Works here, although the frames are gone.
Could you add a link to the TS1500 composite video mod on your homepage? I pointed someone to your website today but they couldn't find the link to the hardware mod (neither could I).

Cheers.

He couldn't find it because it's not there, I presume.

Well, tested again - now also pictures (inlays) dissapeared.
Tested also on Fox/Mozilla. The same phenomenon.

I looked into the empty sites' source-code and it's brief:

"
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN">
<HTML><HEAD>
<META http-equiv=Content-Type content="text/html; charset=windows-1250"></HEAD>
<BODY></BODY></HTML>
"
Nothing more.
Odd.

It appears to be a problem with the FTP client I'm using to transfer the files. Part way through the transfer I see the error:

I won't open a connection to 10.0.0.6 (only to a.b.c.d)

Which appears to be a active/passive issue. Note that this happens after about 1000 files have been transferred successfully so I have no idea why it occurs when it does. I'm trying uploading with FTP using QUOTE PASV to see if that stops it.

I'll post again when I think I've got all the files successfully restored...

So the site update should be complete now.
Don't know why but the FTP server was disconnecting after a certain numbers of files or bytes - had to upload in ten separate sessions to get the site back up again.
Anyway, let me know if you have any problems...
