Cellular Automata

Post by GCHarder »

"The Universe of Cellular Automata" by Hardin Brothers, PCResource 09/1989.

This was another article I've had hidden in my archive for years, which I re-
cently rediscovered. Some more interesting programs written in 8086 assembly,
C and Quick Basic. I've included the scans for those interested, the magazine
doesn't seem to be available online anywhere.

The Programs...

"Bushfire" is a simulation of a speading fire.

"Seep" is a simulation of water seeping through rocks.

"Average" is a simulation of a world in which everyone tries to be average.

There was also a "Life" program, in C, which I omitted since it's been done
already.

"Forest Fire" is a simulation of a forest fire I found at Rosetta Code.

All the programs have Standard, CHR$128 and Chroma versions. Tested in emula-
tion only using EO.

Enjoy;

Greg

I've added a link to the program on my Chroma colourised software web page.
