Thanks Xavier! I think that is now the whole tape complete! I compared all of the .p you sent to the versions I had half-extracted from the tapes and everything checks out of course. I can't believe how I missed some of the easiest clues  but your detective work is amazing!

With Tresor Trail (I can't believe I missed Gold Rush in the listing!) I notice that the listing is reprinted here (with a .p file) and the website owner had made a small change to the programme (I guess to make it run): http://www.users.globalnet.co.uk/~jg27p ... _name8.htm

Thanks again, Will

And the last one on the compilation tape.

The wav file is broken and i had to rebuild the Basic file in binary (Bits rotations, bad basic length...).
Unfortunately this game is based on vars values, and the P file can't load properly.

This is an text adventure game based on the "little pocket book for ZX81" (en) adventure motor.
This routine was also used in the french game "La maison du professeur Folibus" from Alain Brégeon.

All objects, conditions and moves are located in the VARs memory segment, but this part don't match in the P file…

But, this game can be listed in the french catalog…

PROGRAM NAME.p
It was quite badly corrupted but because it was based on the ROM's LOAD code it was relatively easy to repair the corruption.

Wow, I certainly feel 'pepped' up after that! I don't think I've seen graphics like that before - was using in EightyOny but quite excited to see what it'll look like on a real ZX81. Thanks again Xavier for taking the time to recover those for me!

Any ideas on whether these two work or not? They are my dad's programmes this time. I think Side A Prog 1.p is an instrument but I've not been able to test it out on my hardware, and the second one Side B Prog 3 does something but I'm not sure if it's all there (it uses the ZXAS I think to load - there is a second version Prog 5). The wavs are here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ ... sp=sharing

I have recorded these at much lower volume and I am surprised that ZX81 Tape Converter seemed to work much better at these volume levels, they never captured before. However still no joy with that GM compiler tape - ZX81 signals really hidden in noise.

Thanks, Will

Still worth re-recording it and posting it here as might be possible, and maybe try a different cassette player. It might be better than before and might allow some information to be recovered.
