It looks like the power supply that arrived with one of my Lambdas.

I don't use it, as it gives the bad picture on the monitor, so it becomes unreadable.

I just use a cheap universal power adapter where you can change connector and these voltages 3V 4.5V 6V 7.5V 9V and 12.

Yes, it's the power supply that came with my Your Computer 2000.

Would a ZX Spectrum PSU also work or is the polarity wrong (or I can messure it when I get home ...)

Spectrum power supply has wrong polarity, so stay away from it.

I purchased a new PSU but the (RF) image did not improve.

I also managed to get a picture over composite (the monitor output) but it lacked colour. But at least I did get an image ultimately!

I will leave it at that. The Lambda 8300 and Basic 2000 and all peripherals will return to the shelf now.
