Lambda 16 memory expansion and ROM question

Post by hyttju »

Hi!

I bought this amazing unit. I have found a rom file for lambda 8300 that will make it more compatible with zx81 software. What eeprom should i use for replacement?

Another question:

I want to expand the memory to 16k. Is it possible to use ZX81 or timex units memory expand without modifications or any other memory expansion?

It is so hard to find original 16 k expansion.

My Lambda 8300 is not working, but I've read they can use the same hardware as the ZX81. Even hardware made for Lambda 8300 (like the colour expansion) can be used for ZX81. A regular ZX81 16K RAMpack should work with Lambda 8300.

I concur. My Lambda, (insipidly named "Your Computer"), uses a Timex 1016 RAM pack I have left over after doing the 32K mod to my ZX81. It works just fine.
