Spectrum +2 standoff

Post by Danger_Man »

I found a black block rattling around inside my Spectrum +2. I’m assuming this is some sort of standoff.

Does any one know where this is supposed to go on the motherboard? Should it be attached to a chip with thermal compound?

I’ve seen one of them before. It definitely is not a heatsink. So no, it does not need to be attached to any chip. But I’m not sure of it’s function, or where it came from.

Looking forward to summer later in the year.
