Mine was a kit

Post by Forthman »

My first computer was a ZX80 kit. $99 ..... wife said it was to much money to spend on toys. :P

Did my first programs on it. It was a great learning tool.

Never would have thought years later there would be a web site for the little computer.

I Just had too join.

And a very warm welcome from me as well.
So you were married in 1980?
I was still in school. In summer 1981 I visited UK, saw my first ZX80 in a shop and immediately fell in love with it.
It still is my favourite computer.
Nice to meet you here.
kind regards Paul
In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. But, in practice, there is.

No. His wife had three husbands before him.
That's where husband forth originally came from.

I was married in 1977. Got married after I had spent 8 months on the rode just kicking around the country. Stopped by the GM plant when i saw a line in front of the hiring office. Got a job in the foundry in Pontiac Mich. lasted 6 months. Worked in a fastener plant and got laid off and bought the little computer.
I wrote almost all my programs in Forth. Yes the language. My partner nick named me Forthman. We did micro processing consulting to GM, Ford and tool and die shops around Detroit.

I have dug out a couple of the old little machines. Have one that comes alive.

Like to find the game Dictator. My brothers and i loved to play that game.
