Hello from Texas

Post by ceemill »

Hi All,

Used a TS 1000 some years ago. I found it in a pile of stuff one of my former employers bought off of a guy who cleared out a storage unit. It had been re-cased in a black metal box with a real keyboard on it and the thing actually worked the first time I tried it. I still have it, but unfortunately it is in storage in another state.

I recently acquired two more from e-bay. One works just fine, the other only produces a black screen on my little portable tv/monitor when I turn it on. Any remedies for this? I suspect that it has one of the older ULA chips, or there may be another problem, not sure.

Anyway, I'm glad I found this forum and I hope to hear from you guys.

Thanks,
Carl

Hi and welcome.

I guess people are occupied with holiday and making new hardware and software for the community. Usually these forums are quite active.

Hi - welcome to the forums - it has indeed been very quiet on here for the past few days... Probably just the effects of Summer (certainly in the UK, it is colder now than in February, so as soon as the sun is out you have to dash outside!)

Everyone is most welcome.

As for me... I am working on an old project for the ZX Spectrum where I was able to solve a resistant bug, so less time for the ZX81 at the moment, but perhaps a port to the ZX81 is possible.

I guess Mark is in holiday now as he is the unofficial welcome manager here on board.
So welcome from me and have fun exploring this forum and it's content. ;)

Hey everybody,

Thanks for all the replies. I understand about the holidays and the weather, no problem. I have already learned a lot here just by reading the various posts. You fellows know your stuff and I am glad I found the forum.

I'm sure I will need your expertise as I am pretty new to this.
