Hello, and thanks for letting me join.
I have to admit, I grew up on Amstrad CPCs and recently got back to retro computing last year. My passion though, is all things Z80 and I am currently building my own Z80 based computer.
But, if your passion is Z80, then my thinking is I have to get a ZX80 or ZX81. So just picked up locally a ZX81 (probably was in kit form originally) and looks to be working but think I need to do a composite mod to get a stable display.
Anyway, I am amazed at what people have done with the ZX81.
Can't wait to get started and investigating the ŹX81 world.
Thanks
Rabs

Welcome to the forum.
Please look around.
I would recommend an external or internal RAM upgrade to at least 16 kB.
(Links for 16 kB kits https://www.sinclairzxworld.com/viewtop ... 135#p45135)
I would also recommend an ESP32 controller as storage in placement of saving to tape.
