Yes, as this avoids the effects of any extra video circuitry that may be fitted depending on the country that the board was manufactured for. The wiring to the modulator and any extra components connected to it should also be disconnected.

Hello,

I'm back, with my ZX81 and the modified video output. Not having the skills to solder/desolder, I entrusted the modification to a friend of my father, who took care of it.
I was too afraid of destroying my ZX81... :D

Here is the result, on a 15 inch TV.

I am very satisfied with the result. The image is very sharp, the contrast is excellent.
And to finish, a photo under ZXpand Commander:

Hello,

I had a question : I acquired two 16KB memory expansions.

The one on the right is the official Sinclair extension.

Just out of curiosity, do you have any information regarding the one on the left?

Where does it come from and since when ? Its characteristics are identical to the original Sinclair extension ? (access time, quality of components, compatibility, etc.)
