This is a really good looking game. Love the lo-res animations!
It almost felt too luxurious with all the intro screens ;)

Thanks chaps. :)

Can't quite shake the feeling though that low-res games aren't really in favour any more though. :|

I disagree. When the games are as good as this, big-pixel is NICE!

I agree - any new games for the zX81 are just really nice to have a go on - I can't believe how much better they look with a splash of colour too!

It just shows that well designed games do not need fancy graphics!

Did a post get removed? Something about a colour version? Would that be from using the Chroma interface?

Olofsen posted it but it seems to have been removed! Maybe there was a problem, I think it will run in JSZeddy but I haven't figured out how to do that yet.

I agree with the others, I am really amazed by the quality of your games, wish I knew how you do it!!! I like programming for the ZX81 just to see what the ol' doorstop can do.

Yes, I had removed it, because my mood suddenly changed from this is perhaps funny, prompted by the splash of colour, to this doesn't do proper justice to the quality of the game... It is for Chroma, and could be run in JSZeddy (depending on the browser) by first loading the attachment (with the Browse or Choose File button) and next Pandemic.

Thanks, it's fun! (although JSZeddy runs so slowly on my laptop as to make the game unplayable)

Having read up about it, I think games such as mine would need to be written with Chroma in mind, and so write the full attribute screen rather than link colours to characters. It would be difficult to retro-fit that to most of my existing games, but I might consider it for anything I do in the future - Indeed I have something in mind which it would suit very well.
