Block Buster Revisited

Here's another old program I revisited recently.

I originally converted the Spectrum version published in ZX Computing to run on a ZX81 with static RAM in the 8K region. It was written using SHREB v2.

I mainly wanted to see if I could produce a playable version for a standard 16K ZX81, which mainly meant replacing the original UDG characters with standard ZX81 characters. While I was at it I also created a UDG version which is almost identical to the SHREB version. Well, it should be, I just recycled the UDG data from it. Of course, this version requires a UDG capable ZX81 or emulator with 8-16K RAM.

The programs are a tad slow but since they require more strategic thinking than fast reflexes they're not too bad.

Files included in the ZIP...

BB16K.p Standard ZX81 version.
BBUDG.p UDG version.
Block Buster (16K).bas Standard ZX81 version source.
Block Buster (Spectrum).tzx Spectrum version as published in ZX Comp.
Block Buster (UDG).bas UDG ZX81 version source.
Block Buster (WRX).tzx SHREB v2 Version.
Block Buster.txt Game info.

Spectrum-2.jpg in case I made a typo somewhere.
