MANIC MINER

Post by yerzmyey »

Yo,

where the manic Miner http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EjA-qlDv ... re=related is downloadable? (They provided some crap link with nothing).

This is a spectacular work (supposedly Czech or Slovakian) for - I presume - ZX81 16K.
What is required to change in the machine to have hi-res with 16K pugged in?

Hi, the Manic Miner is Czech work from 1984 and works with 16K. The game has about 11kB and contains only 11 caverns, instead of 20. The HRG is done by software trick, no extra add-on is needed. The game itself is also much faster than the Spectrum version and some details are different. I have it so if you want, I can send it to you.

I knew it must be possible to make hi-res graphic with software only.
Incredible work.
It shows what ZX81 could be if it had more talented programmists.
Anyway - I downloaded it of course and converted to WAV.
Thanx, guys!!!!!!

I found this game a few years ago and have played it often. The game is truly amazing. I used to play it on my ZX spectrum when I was a kid so to find it for my beloved ZX81 was fantastic, and to have it with such amazing graphics was just the icing on the cake.

I wish there were more games at this quality available for the zeddy.
