Just 16K RAMpack wouldn't work, it also has to be Hi Res capable.

True,

The inner memory from the ZX81 has also moved to the RAM-pack.
You can test your RAM-pack when loading a 1K game on a machine with RAM-pack. If it shows hires it is compatible otherwise
you can only play without RAM-pack

48K for 50 games or 16K for 25 games.
That is a lot less.

Most will have 16k or 32k. Hmm... and the ZXblast has 512k, so that should be sufficient:-)

I've just found out about the ZXBlast - wondering what would happen if I plug this into my ZXMore? Are the two devices compatible?

No. ZXBLAST is the ZX81 Version of capabilities that are included in the ZXmore. So they would disturb each other.
