Just found this but for some reason the game freezes after I walk in the box on level 1. The message to type in the alphabet comes up with clock, but there's no response when in press any, or all the keys. Not sure if there's an update, or anybody else has had the same thing.

Any ideas?
The same thing happened to me with the sz81 emulator, with the Retroarch core and I think that with EightyOne it works well.
I haven't tried it on a real ZX81
I'm using real hardware and tried 3 different machines.

I saw that a routine was checking a loop double. This could be a fix.

Bingo! Works perfect.

Now it's just a case of making coffee, and plenty of it! 😁
