The comp.sys.sinclair Crap Games Competition 2024

Post by EdToo »

It gives me great displeasure to announce I'll be the host of C.S.S.C.G.C 2024. Before the official start of proceedings on the last bong of Big Ben New Year's Eve I'm just making my way around the Sinclair-related forums to drum up some goodies for my inbox next year. I have already been threatened with a QL entry and I want to make sure my first love the ZX81/80 is not left out. Full details are over on https://csscgc24.blogspot.com/ I look forward to seeing what delights come my way.

And the first review of the first submission of the year is up. Jim Waterman has set a high bar with his entry for the Lambda 8300. The game is available for download at the itch.io location here. Number Board Plus is a remake of a much older type-in. Does it improve the original or add little value? You have my verdict above, post yours below.

You can also use the online emulator JSzeddy, that supports both old and new ROM of Lambda 8300.

Know that this game is only working on the new rom for Lambda 8300.

I'll make a note of that in case of anymore entries for the Lambda. The benefit of this contest is learning about the unofficial Sinclair clones. The Lambda is an impressive spin off.

And hot on Jim's heels we have ZXKerl with not one, but two games GFM and GFM2. The review is here and the game can be downloaded here.

In Heck, there are two options for perpetual torment:

Eat the Puckerberry and suffer for eternity:
drink nothing but a cocktail of The Last Dab and Mexican Cake blended and served with
habanero slices

There is a lack of entries, come on guys. Let's give the host a proper contest.
