New ZX81 Games : RERELEASE 1K Hires Pinball

Post by dr beep »

Here is a rerelease of 1K HIRES PINBALL

I scanned the code and was able to alter it far enough with new coding technics found after coding this game and
it made enough room to add hiscore and display of balls remaining (ball on screen included).

Controls are unaltered:

Row Space-V : Start new game
Row A-G : Flipper
Row Q-T : Release new ball.

EDIT: there was a timing bug, hope it is solved.
This also shows how tight the coding is.

I played several times (without success), because very often the text "TILT" occurs during pressing the "flipper" row....

Pressing the flippers up is also bouncing against the machine. If you do that too long the machine goes on TILT.
You need to use the flippers carefully. Keeping the ball in rest on the flipper will therefore result in TILT also.
Keep the ball moving.

Well done Bob.

My games with ZXPAND allow both during input.
Why do you skip keyboard when joystick is detected?
Or is keyboard also allowed but skipped when joystick is used? That is how I work.

I just do - always have done. Nobody has mentioned any problem with the method before.

It is no problem, just a question.
It works so it is ok. Just curious.

Joystick will be read first, and then keyboard as a fallback, so both can be used.
