Loading TXT to EightyOne or Converting TXT to .O ZX80?

Post by bola_dor »

I am trying to convert a BASIC listing to .O or to load it to EightyOne.
I ve tried saving it as ANSI with .B80 extension and dropped it into EO bit with no success.. at first I had to correct some characters I recognized as mistyped.. but then Nothing happens.. just the K cursor..
I couldn't find neither any convertion tool as there is for the ZX81..
Thanks in advance
Ernesto

That is supported.

You can either drag and drop the .b80 file into the main emulator window or the Tape Manager window, or select it via the File > Open options.

A dialog should appear allowing you to select a number of conversion settings. Do you see this dialog?

Once you click OK on the dialog, the file is converted and appears in the Tape Manager window. Does this happen for you?

The ZX80 should reset and then LOAD is entered automatically. Does this happen for you?

If nothing loads and you just get returned to the K prompt, then check that you have selected a large enough RAM pack option for the size of the BASIC program.

Also, make sure you are using the latest version of EightyOne, which is v1.18.

If that all fails then could you share the .b80 file here and I will investigate why it is failing.

Don't know about the .B80, but you can convert a text file to "O" with "ZxToken". (Win32)

There is an option on the dialog to accept alternate spellings, such as no space in GOTO and GOSUB:
