Sinclair ZX80 / ZX81 / Z88 Forums

Having a look on a book of which I vaguely remember the title as N wonderful programs for the ZX80 and ZX81, time go I saved 2 pages that were listing the program to play draughts in 1k in basic on the zx80. Attached the pages.

Question is: did someone ever played with it?

Seems a nice program but I was not able to find any other reference to it...

Not sure if I have this book somewhere but I do have the 16k version which Tim Hartnell based his version on in his book, "49 explosive games for the ZX81" I never bothered with either one as chess was always my game.

Those pages are from 49 Explosive Games for the ZX81, which also features 28 programs for the 4K ROM ZX80 at the end of the book. Those ZX80 games were originally published in 50 Rip-Roaring Games for the ZX80 and ZX81.

I once typed in the program and played against it. Sadly the program is somewhat Stupid and often makes completely insane moves like placing his king somewhere out of the board and then you can't beat it, because the king is still there
