ZX80 Core - new ZX80 motherboards
Re: ZX80 Core - new ZX80 motherboards
So here a picture of the board with all components.
The video modulator has been added temporarily and works very well.
So today passed the LOAD and SAVE of audio files.
Works as expected, could LOAD programs and SAVE them and load the saved programs again from PC.

Beautiful work as always, Karl!
Re: ZX80 Core - new ZX80 motherboards
Very nice, looks really good, shame I'm not really into the ZX80.

what's that Smell.... smells like fresh flux and solder fumes...
Re: ZX80 Core - new ZX80 motherboards
It's a ZX81 as well !
Even with the NMI generator board and switchable ROMs.
You can switch between ZX80, ZX81, maybe Lambda, ASZMIC.
Or even switch same OS with different fonts.
Or drivers included.
If you put a 64kByte EPROM in it, you can choose between 16 overlapping 4k-16k pages.
You can use 4k ROMs, 8k ROMs, 12k ROMs mixed.
For example you can use a ZX80 ROM, ZX81 ROM and a 4k page for drivers which is accessable from both ZX80 and ZX81 ROM.
Or you put up to 8 charsets in the ROM which can be used either from ZX80 or ZX81 by simply changing the I register with a simple program.
I think some people can heck out some more useful ideas ...

By the way I maybe plan to make transparent cases for the boards.
Too beautiful to hide it in a simple plastic case, I think.

There are four lights!
Step up to red alert. Sir, are you absolutely sure? It does mean changing the bulb
Looking forward to summer being good this year.

Re: ZX80 Core - new ZX80 motherboards
Now have 100% function of the board.
Even the ZX81XRAM over the slot connector works perfect.
Today will try out different other components (RAMs/ROMs), HCT instead of LS, ROM Switching.
And finally will test the NMIX board with NMI generator.
Here some pics of picture (quality) - needs ZX81CCB which is later part of the NMIX board.

I can't wait for mine. Congratulations! And if transparent cases are available...
