There are no limits!

Post by Sdw »

A new demo for machines with 16kb RAM (no hires addon required) created by me.

I think these 256x192, full-framerate effects are a world first on the ZX81, but since I'm rather new to the game, I might be completely wrong! :)

Here's a screenshot:

You can download the binary from my homepage

And if you are too lazy to wait 7 minutes for the binary to load, there's always a YouTube video :)

Your demos keep getting better and better. I wish you'd actually write a game!!!!

Insane work. You're the best.
Especially that the prog doesn't need any hardware modifications.
Surely one of the best demos for ZX81.

I've just added an info on German ZX81 forum.

Hi SDW
really nice!

Does your HRG support set/reset of all individual 192*256 pixels (other "pseudo"-HRGs without any hardware modification don't)?

siggi: No, the standard pseudo-hires restrictions apply. I am fairly certain that it is impossible to do a 'full' hires routine on an expanded machine without having the hires-mod.

yerzmyey: Thanks for your kind words and helping to spread the info!

name: Nah, I'm not really into coding games. I have done games for other systems in the past, and I grow bored of them before they are finished.

Btw, Sdw - You've got a small (? ;) ) mistake on Your site.

Two ZX81 links, while one
http://ag1976.com/prods.html?prodplatform=12 should go to ZX81

and the second
http://ag1976.com/prods.html?prodplatform=13 should go for Atari VCS/2600

Anyway - I love Your ZX81 / Commodore VIC-20 stuff and I hope You will keep support these devices. ;)

BY THE WAY - CAN I ASK YOU FOR A LOOPED VERSION OF "Somewhat Less Limited Capabilities"???????
I would like to have it for constant showing on 8bit meeting (not only Sinclair ones).

Ah, thanks for pointing that out, hand't seen it myself!
I must have made a cut-n-paste error when adding the new category.

I've attached a looping version of SLLC to this post.
