You can start with 'Machine Code for Beginners'

Post by mrtinb »

Now there's no excuse not to learn machine code any longer.

If you like to start with machine code there are simple children's books from the 80'ies.

This great illustrated book from Usborne has both Z80 and 6502 assembler. It starts so simple that all children can understand.

I remember this book series from my childhood and liked it.

This book is for these computers: ZX81, Spectrum, BBC, Atari, Oric, VIC20 and Commodore 64.

Happy learning.

Great find, Martin.

"It starts so simple that all children can understand."

Now you've got me looking for one that a dog could understand. For me.

I have that book! Its literally the only original piece of 80’s stuff I have left. All the rest I have had to buy again. Several times in some cases!

Really good book. It taught me enough 6502 (we had beebs at school) to get accused of cheating in my O level computer studies project. They had not taught assembly and so did not believe anyone (especially me it seems) could do it. I had to sign bits of paper to confirm it was my program. I was both flattered and deeply insulted at the same time.
