I've reworked the design to use some programmable logic - GALs - which has made the chip count drop considerably whilst retaining the old-school feel. Modern CPLDs and FPGAs are a bit out of place on a board like this.

I'll be submitting this to a board-house tomorrow as prototype #2 and if it works - I should know next week - then I'll start planning the production run next month.

It's getting exciting :)

Not slacking!! I've waited three years for this!!

C'mon Charlie cut out the unimportant things like earning a living and having a family life, holidays etc, We NEED Our MMC fix!!

Only kidding mate :D This is looking better all the time and Your plug and play philosophy is a winner for the less electronically able (ME).

More power to Your soldering iron good Knight.

Charlie, it is getting exciting - this is one product the market has been clammering for and I am hoping to be able to come to an arrangement for the distribution.

Keep up the good work.

Thanks guys :)

I sent the board off yesterday so I should be getting it back toward the end of next week. Then there'll be a period of debugging (if the other boards are anything to go by )

Once I'm happy that it works then the full production run will begin...
