Oh no! :o

My Zeddy contains a Z80, which is an 8-bit-processor! So the icon should be 8x8!

Not necesserily. ;)
The icon could consist of four 8*8 graphic signs. ;)
Heheheh. :)

Another idea:
why not display the picture of the cover on a HIRES-Zeddy as intro for the game?
Wilf describes on his pages, how a PC bitmap could be converted to a Zeddy hires picture:

http://www.user.dccnet.com/wrigter/inde ... /BMP2P.htm

Remove some colors and some pixels, and the Zeddy is able to display the cover ...

...talkin'bout it, I wonder why the file http://www.user.dccnet.com/wrigter/inde ... es/BMP2P.P You pointed doesn't work with EughtyOne emularor or vb81, but it do work with Xtender...
I will have to test it with my real ZX81 tomorrow. Hm.
I assume it's not software display but it needs additional gfx hardware?

It requires a HRG enabled Zeddy (2 diodes to AND /RD and /RFSH, see at the bottom of the Wilf's description).
Emulators must support WRX16K hires ....

Because you haven't enabled WRX graphics in the Hardware dialog box...

Note,
The XuR can convert a BMP under Memotech.
It fill the S$ vars value with a picture.
Select the Memotech card, and have a look to the up popups...
You can have a look to the Memotech examples to get a proper s$ to fill it.
Have Fun.

Don't know if I have a bugged version of this game , but by collecting only three objects ,not including the final one (won't give it away!!) I completed it in about 5-6 minutes. is there no linear progression? ie collect object a or you can't proceed to point b, or are things like an open drawbridge a bed a rope etc just red herrings? I am not a games player by any stretch of the imagination, Did I just get lucky?

Bonjour Moggy,

I do not know which version you have. If you have mine :ANDRE***, dated 08/07/01, no bugs were reported from this version since that date.

I must mention also that some items are usuful, some are are not. But I am convinced that you can not complete my version without using most of the collectable items. Less defeating the enemy without them.

You can get my version at "http://www.zx-team.de/andre". Try it out and let me "hear" your comments.

For those of you who enjoy ZX81/TS1000 game, "YATZXEE" from Stafford White is coming out soon.

Have fun will travel, ANDRE***

Hi ANDRE
Will visit your site and download your version. I have most of your games already and it's been a long time since I came across someone who uses basic so damm well and creates games with such a unique perspective. There are some great programmers on this site, sir morris is no slouch with programming and andy rea also (look out for "Tron Trails"). and the emulator guys like Mike who,if I'm not mistaken, wrote eighty-one. What a piece of work!! a zx81 on a 42" plasma screen!! How I wish I had those skills.

Regards Moggy

Ps a solution to JUMCATS would be most welcome!!!!
