Re: Expansion plane project
I got it fixed, and I think it looks great.

Re: Expansion plane project
That looks highly professional and would be a welcome boon to many ZX81 users - would you be interested in making a batch of say, 30 for re-sale?

Re: Expansion plane project
Erm... It seems like I don't get it.
These are 'female' connectors. But every interface has only a 'female' connector.
Shouldn't the connectors on the red board be 'male'?
Also I'm not sure if the interfaces could fit so closely, each other.
Maybe I just missed the idea.

Re: Expansion plane project
@yerz - Having a male conn. on the board would be difficult to arrange - the expansions would have to lie on top of each other.
This 'plane would be for a set of home-made boards. It would be most valuable if there was a basic 'experimenter' plug-in available..! Hint, hint

Re: Expansion plane project
This first batch had a mistake on the fingers. 18 of the 22 fingers, had vias in the center of them. On this board, I ground back the fingers to remove the vias and thus making it usable. I am having another batch made right now to correct this problem.RWAP wrote:That looks highly professional and would be a welcome boon to many ZX81 users - would you be interested in making a batch of say, 30 for re-sale?
Then I will offer them for sale on this forum first.
sirmorris- What size/(dimensions) of Experimental board would be best?

Ah. So that's not for existing interfaces...?
Well. Thx for the info, SirMorris.

Re: Expansion plane project
Hmm. Large enough for 40-pin DILs, certainly. 8255s will be common additions..!
It would be nice to have the pins labelled. Maybe a small section (SMT parts?) for a common IO port decode circuit... Or design a new super one which offers flexibility?
Oh and the moon. On a stick, preferably

Re: Expansion plane project
Say, Littlejohn, how long is your expansion interface? I like the color of the PCB. I get so tired of seeing green boards. It's nice to have a break!!

Measurements on the bare board are 2.75" X 5.5".
