You will not regret.

Ah, You will have to use a ZXpand commander. A very good tool.

And if some program doesn't work or work strangely, then You should run it with SHIFT+X, if I recall, from the commander. A very useful feature.
(But after using such a prog, You have to reset the ZXpand properly, keeping the 'reset' key longer).

Good luck! :)

Got the ZXPand today. One day delivery - fantastic service Rich.

I'm using it with a MemoPak keyboard, output is composite using the ZX8 module and I'm more than happy with it.

I believe its possible to put the ZXPand into a MemoPak RAM case and that the end needs a slot cut for the SD Card. Does the dip switch hole need extended to expose the reset switch? Dremmel time on Saturday - are there any templates for the holes?

I've got the manual downloaded and will print that out tomorrow.

OK, I'm off to find commander and any other info.

I can suggest this version:
http://zx81.republika.pl/CMDR.p
because it can also display BMP files when they are converted into black&white (1-bit / monochrome / 2 colours) and 256x192 resolution.

Here's a vector template for the end cap modification of a Memotech ram pack case. Printed 1:1 it matches the cap that I use. I suspect that my printer prints things a little tiny bit too small - but the error should be insignificant at this scale.

It's intended that the template is printed and cut then stuck down to the end cap before bringing the dremel near it ;) Double sided tape or even white glue could be used. The white glue should wash off easily afterwards.

I'll be interested to hear how people get on with it!

I've make a sticky post with these in so they're available for the future.
