SAA1099
Good to see the HW-developers working productively these last years! nice sound options with AY-chips. But I was a bit confounded: no love for the SAA1099 sound-chip found in the Coupé? I have 2 chips just begging to be hooked up to my ZX81, but I'd like to hear if anyone else has done it already?

Re: SAA1099
I know Zaxon has designed a card using this chip for the Spectrum - what is the benefit over the AY chip?

Re: SAA1099
It's the old catch 22 problem.
No hardware means no software.
No software means no demand.
Plus...
The way to program a AY sound chip is known within various retro computer communities.
While the way to program a SAA1099 is not so widely known.
To spark some interest, someone (not me, I have zero musical skills) will have to build a prototype, compose an outstanding tune, and put a video of it on you tube
If the connection details of the Spectrum version are known, it may be possible to adapt it for the Zeddy.

Re: SAA1099
Well then, it seems I won't be incompatible with some other implementation when I make my own...
