Hi all <cough>sirmorris </cough>
I'm mounting an Issue 3 ZXPand in a Memopak 16K case, and want to add a single external bi-colour LED for status etc.
Two questions - looks as though the Issue 1 ZXPand had headers for this purpose, but the Issue 3 does not. I'm assuming I need to remove the existing LED's in this case.
Also - are the LED's common cathode or anode?
Cheers,
B

Re: ZXPand Issue 3 - external LED
Howdy!
They are common cathode. You should remove the existing LEDs. Unfortunately I did indeed remove the jumpers for external LEDs on issue three boards.

Impressive
Every now and then I look for a faulty 16k byte Memopack. So far I have three "unable to test" that turned out to be fully working ones, which are still working, as I refuse to trash working kit...
Maybe Memotech got better quality 4116 DRAM chips? Or maybe their design of inverter circuit to provide the -5V supply is the most reliable? Answers on a postcard to "47 Way Back Ave, Lost in time, History County."

Looks superb, Brendan
Sir Morris, are you planning to produce anymore ZXpands in the future? I know of a few who are after one, myself included.
