Yeah, it sounds a little different on a PC using proper speakers compared to on an iPad mini in a weather resistant case.

If like I suggested to Martin earlier he creates a WAV with WINtzx and the same noise occurs then it's almost certainly his prime mover as the tzx created WAVS are virtually noisless.
