ZX81 keyboard membrane broken

Post by rmta »

Hello.

Just got my zx81 back from the dark ages and had to open it because it was not workin. This connection to the keyboard is ripped and needs a new one. Can anyone tell me the steps for fixing this problem? Thank you!

Hi Welcome to the forums,

you can if you are very careful recut the ends with some small scissors, but the shorter they go the harder it is to plug them back in,,,

alternatively you can buy a new keyboard from sell my retro http://www.sellmyretro.com/offer/detail ... rd%29-2529

Hello and welcome :D

I recommend a new keyboard membrane, use the link that Andy posted above.

I have amended the thread title so it makes it easier for anyone else looking for help in the future.

Step up to red alert. Sir, are you absolutely sure? It does mean changing the bulb :!:
Looking forward to summer later in the year.
