nice project. Do you have a spare PCB for me? It would be interesting to compare your board with our recent construction (rune and me) which can be found in

The address decoding is much poorer than yours, but the filtering of the sound signal is due to the datasheet of the speech chip. You have choosen a much simpler circuit in contrast to that.

I finished assembly of the LM386 version
Works great. It's nice to have the reset switch for the SP0256-AL2.
And I can see the volume control being useful in some situations.
