Hi all,
Does anyone know if someone has recreated the little through PCB on the Memotech Memopak 16? The little PCB that's soldered onto the ZX81 connector that allows another peripheral to be connected to the back of the RAM pack?
I have one that I picked up that has a broken connector - and someone has been at it before me and tried to desolder the ZX81 connector and have damaged the little expansion PCB (see pic). I did see a thread here with one but it seems different to the Memotech expansion PCB.
Cheers,
KbJ

Most will probably design a small PCB themselves.
If that’s not an option, find a ISA bus prototype board, and cut it to your needs.

Hi Dessony,
Your PCB's look different next to the key - each track and pad on the Memopak goes to another single pad. You have 2 pads connected together on your PCB (looks like GND?) - are you sure this would work with the memopak16?
EDIT:
I've attached pics of the front and back of the Memopak connector.
Many thanks,
Mark.

The underside contacts (positions 4 and 5 if you include the keyway) are both 0V/GND, so it’s normal to connect them together.
Compare with the underside of a ZX81 board… (high resolution photo here).
The only criticism from me, is that it’s normal practice to have the 0V/GND and the power rails (+5V and +9V) using a really thick track. Maybe something for the next revision.

You're in the US though.. by the time I pay for the PCB, customs, postage and VAT, I'll need a mortgage!
Thanks,
Mark.

Kbjunkie,
You are correct. I am in USA. The British pound values more money than the American dollar.
