Yes, there are green Issue 3 PCBs, they are rare but they exist. I've got one

An old topic, but just thought I'd add my serial number related info...

I have a ZX81 with the serial number 001 001662 stamped in green. It's an issue one board with chips etc dated between weeks 8 and 10 in 1982. It has a 2C184E ULA. All chips are socketed. Interesting theory about them being WHSmith models - sounds sensible, but from the masses of ZX81s that WHS sold, you'd think more would turn up with serial numbers.

Another one on eBay. This time 003-003247:


I asked the seller and it was bought from WHSmiths in September 82 - he still has the receipt!
