More ZXpands Available Now
Re: More ZXpands Available Now
Hi,
I'm a happy buyer from this batch! (10th buyer)
Hope I receive it this week in the Netherlands, as we have a Sinclair meeting next Saturday!
And I do hope the ZXpand-AY will come shortly too, as I think that is a must have add-on!
Regards,
René

Re: More ZXpands Available Now
HMMM bit pizzed off about this as I set the retro site to warn me when some were ready for sale as I desperately need one to relieve the spand I'm using solely for composing and by the time I'd seen it they were all gone ah well C'est la vie
Congrats to all first time spanders I think you will find they are a ton of fun!

I really wonder why You don't want to make a deal with Lotharek, like everybody else. I mean - unless he's not interested or something.

Re: More ZXpands Available Now
These are not really designed for production. hey are fiddly and rely on custom cut parts. I looked into having them built but the mix of surface mount and through-hole parts means that assembly would have to be manual, and the price of a ZXpand would nearly double
Anyway, there will be more announced in the first post of this topic 12H before showing up on SMR - so set a watch for this topic.

Re: More ZXpands Available Now
I was one of the lucky chaps who grabbed one (OK. two, one for a mate) in the last batch.
I've got to say thanks to Sir Morris for such a superb piece of kit! I've had a brilliant time using the interface, both for re-living a few games easily and also "scraping" my old ZX81 tapes. I've been able to recover minbug, a machine code monitor that my Dad used to use, and a grammar based game written by the sci-fi author Barrington Bayley (I was friends with his son).
Because of this great interface my Zeddy is getting loads more screen time

Thanks for the feedback

Well, he makes thing the way everything is as cheap for the client as possible. Of course to confirm it in this case, it would require some direct talks with him, as I'm a crap intermediary because I'm not a soldering-guy, You know.sirmorris wrote:I looked into having them built but the mix of surface mount and through-hole parts means that assembly would have to be manual, and the price of a ZXpand would nearly double

Re: More ZXpands Available Now
I too would like to thank Earl Morris for his wonderful little whizzbang which has certainly spiced up my zeddy usage.

(I'm waiting for the ZXblast instead - and hope it'll be a blast)
