New Trading Website Launched

Post by RWAP »

We have now launched SellMyRetro.com - a new trading website which allows you to list items for sale or auction - it is cheaper than eBay and incorporates a Wiki for each category (we are looking for further additions to text for the wiki).

The idea is to bring collectors, users and traders together in one place - we will soon be adding the ability for people to set up a free webstore, so that it can be used to highlight which sites are in existence to support retro computers (and other retro electronics) - or else, they can pay £5 per month and get 50% off all fees on any items which they list for sale on the site.

We hope that you will all want to try and support this new venture - and welcome any feedback on further improvements which can be made.

Thanks for your site, Rich.
One question or lets better say feedback regarding feedback.

Today I accidently left a neutral feedback instead of a positive feedback to someone.
Is it possible to either mark positive as default or no default at all to avoid this ?
Did send you a message over the platform two with a request to change that feedback left. ;)

I responded to the query directly - but basically we allow buyers and sellers to amend their feedback for a couple of months after the end of the auction (go to My Profile and click on Feedback Left).

This overcomes the problems which can arise on other sites, whereby after a seller leaves feedback, the buyer lodges a claim back through their credit card company, or it transpires a payment used was fraudulent, or the buyer then moans that the item has problems, even though it met with the description.

The buyer may also of course want to amend initial feedback if the item breaks within a short while of using it and they get no assistance from the seller, or possibly they initially leave negative feedback, but the seller then resolves the problem quickly and to their satisfaction.
