Kludge fix ZX81 up for adoption!

Post by Lardo Boffin »

I recently bought what turned out to be a kludge fix ZX81 (viewtopic.php?f=7&t=2153&start=150#p26265).

If anyone wants it pm me for more details - it's the unit only for £25 including p&p.

I normally refurb zeddys I buy and put them on eBay but don't want to touch this one as it is a bit of a special one.

It's only been superficially tested - with the plugged in keyboard I got all letters to work and tried a small program. The output is as expected for one of these - dark!

Hello all

Thought I would post some pics in case anyone is interested. The manual is included (put 'unit only' earlier - not sure why...), it's a first edition. The back cover is a bit yellowed. I will check each page at some point - certainly before passing it on.

Well, if you insist on wetting my appetite by including more bits, I may be tempted to bite instead of passing it...

Not ready to quite accept any parcels this week, as there is a row of four parcels still awaiting unwrapping that I have not found time to look at yet...

Wait for the bombardment of photos across three forums this week... (as there are some smaller items that did get a visit from the cutting knife  ).

In your Zeddy travels, do you have any non-working boards that just don't want to be fixed?

Step up to red alert. Sir, are you absolutely sure? It does mean changing the bulb :!:
Looking forward to summer later in the year.

I have two broken zeddys but both are just waiting on ULAs. So far I've not had any zeddys that are difficult to fix (the sparkly pixel one aside)! Resilient little things.

If more bits are of interest there is still an unclaimed cassette cable (unopened) from this post:-

viewtopic.php?f=8&t=2431

I'm also sure I can chuck in an age appropriate RF cable as well - last count I had about 10 of them lying around...

Finally...

These cables came with a recent zeddy - not sure they are anything to do with zeddys! Also free to a good home (p&p aside if not take with the kludge fix).

Just be aware that RF cables are routinely sacrificed when they stray too close to my workshop...
They get castrated and get transformed into composite phono - phono cables
