RAM pack manufacturer

Post by rune »

I have a 16K Prism RAM pack which has a damaged edge connector. Opening the case to see what was needed to repair it, I found that the circuit board was marked Sinclair.

Did Prism and some of the other 3rd party sellers simply buy spare Sinclair boards and market them as their own?

Perhaps so. Prism Microproducts was the sole distributor of the ZX81 in Britain to small retail organisations with fewer than 20 outlets. They also published Sinclair User magazine. http://wikipcpedia.com/wiki/the-second- ... tribution/

Interesting reading David. I never imagined Prism was as big a company as they appear to be in the article.
