DANCING GIRL demo on ZX-81

Hi!

There were several small demos for ZX-81, containing various animation. The biggest one was some dancing girl for ZX-81 16Kb (also others similar progs, like some moving baby, some fire effect and so on).

Can anybody remember who made the demos and where to download them from?
I mean I have them of course but the problem is I wanted to add them to POUET database (they have NO ZX-81 programs at the moment and that's annoying).

Anybody can help?

PS: As for downloading place, that's not as necessary as the author. I can upload the files on my site or whatever but I must know the author before publishing the progs on the POUET site.

Maybe You remember the rest of demos? (I mean the fire effects, and the dancing baby or somethign like that)?
Shit, it was a good source of new ZX-81 progs and place of productive "brainstorms". I wonder if anybody could invite all these guys here.

I will post here remaining progs too, if I find them on hdd.

By the time the TS1000 forum closed it was also lacking activity, and I fear the same thing is happening to this one. I have no idea where the TS1000.us posters went, but I think that the more knowledgeable ones already joined this forum.

I really hope that Simon (of zx81stuff.co.uk), Mike (of EightyOne fame), Siggi, LittleJohn and many others will continue to share with us their experiences and ideas. This is the only English forum for the ZX80 and ZX81, and we should take care of what we have here.

I remember a very old thread about demos with digitized video on the ZX81. I think the trick involved working with tables of ascii characters, but it was way over my head.

I discovered this old thread via one of my occasional vanity searches . Not sure if the original poster is still lurking around but I'm the guilty party for the Dancing Baby and a couple of other animations including the fireball ones. Here's the original thread from the mirror site (thanks for posting that, Siggi!) None of the links to the .p files work any longer, but I should still have all that stuff on a HD somewhere.

I was pointed to Ted's animation demo shortly after I started down that path myself and was super impressed... and also encouraged to see how many frames he was able to render. What started as "let's see if I can create some noisy, hires-ish images" quickly snowballed into the Dancing Baby demo about a week later.

I'm reminded of it again now because I'm on a mission to do the same thing to the Intellivision . Ya gotta love high quality emulators.

I'm off in Australia but will be returning to the states in a few more days... hoping to dig up the ZX-81 version off an old HD, if I can find it when I get back. I'm wondering if yerzmyey still has copies of those old demos in the event that I can't dig them up.
