Has anyone figured out a way to use an external display?
Has anyone figured out a way to use an external display?
Just wondering as technology has progressed so much since the Z88's launch If anyone has figured out or found an aftermarket device to offer a display out?
I know the Z88 itself doesn't offer much in expandability, but just wondering.

Good evening Seeker,
I have not yet tried it out, but the following site has software you can download to your PC and use this as a gateway to a monitor.

An FPGA version of the Z88 is being developed, and also a core if this work for the spectrum next / n-go
It will work with a VGA monitor at a 600x400 aspect ratio I believe.
Apart from that, the answer is no.

What might be possible is to use a raspberry pi as a driver for a suitable screen.
Any thoughts on this?
The FPGA work outputs VGA. Could this be replicated in a raspberry pi interface? I am just spitballing here.

Re: Has anyone figured out a way to use an external display?
Couldn't you just get a VGA to whatever adapter? You'd get HDMI...etc..
Re: Has anyone figured out a way to use an external display?
You want an external display as in a monitor? Not a replacement screen for the computer?

Yes, external screen.
